Settle in at a local favorite for a warm, welcoming fall night at Ox Lake Tavern. With its rustic charm and thoughtful menu—like the crispy chicken sandwich perfectly paired with a specialty cocktail—it’s an ideal choice for your first evening in Crosslake.
After-Dinner Cabin Time
Head back to Boyd Lodge and gather around your fire: enjoy a gas-powered firepit on the deck of one of our upscale four-bedroom cottages—or a classic wood-burning fireplace in one of our loft cabins.
Did you know the Whitefish Chain is the S’more’s Capital of the World? Take your campfire tradition up a notch by pairing roasted marshmallows with your favorite evening drink. This Toasted S’more Martini is a playful, grown-up twist to a classic treat—perfect for enjoying by the fire.
Day 2: Morning Rituals & Outdoor Fun

Wake up with a cup at the newly renamed The Yellow House. Formerly Crafts & Cones, this cozy spot now serves coffee, baked treats, and light bites under charming new signage and new local ownership—it’s a perfect way to fuel your day.
Afternoon Outdoors: Fishing, Hiking, or Hunting
Whether your family is angling for fish or forest paths, you can:
- Take to the lakes and rent a fishing boat directly from Boyd Lodge. Ask Mike about the local fishing and hunting spots.
- Explore the beautiful fall foliage by walking our private cross-country ski trails.
- Head out for a hike or hunt at the nearby Uppgaard Wildlife Management Area, just a mile from the resort. It has 110 acres of beautiful woods and lakes.

Cap off the day at the newly revamped Riverside Tavern, under fresh ownership with a fully updated exterior and menu. Think modern comfort classics and local favorites—already earning a spot as a local must-visit.
Day 3: Farewell Fuel & Departure
Breakfast at Dark Horse Brew
Before heading home, swing by Dark Horse Brew, a cozy new addition in Crosslake Town Square. Their specialty coffee, dirty sodas, custom breakfast sandwiches, and smoked salmon bagels make it a standout way to send off your weekend.
