Boyd Lodge is Minnesota’s truly perfect year-round resort destination. Situated on the shores of both Rush Lake and Lower Whitefish Lake, your cabin or cottage at Boyd Lodge gives you access to all 14 lakes in the Whitefish Chain of Lakes, as well as the quiet serenity of Rush Lake. Honestly, there’s no time of year that isn’t pert-near perfect.
Summer
at Boyd Lodge Resort
During the summer, we deliver the cabin vacation experience you had as a kid, with turtle races, scavenger hunts, swimming, fishing, and pretty much everything from your childhood trips to the lake.
Bring your boat and enjoy unlimited access to 14 different lakes! When you’re not using it, your boat will be safe in our harbor. If you don’t have your own boat, don’t worry – we rent fishing boats and pontoons. However you want to do it, you’ll spend your days out on the water – fishing, waterskiing, or just anchored and relaxing.
Fall
Is Beautiful at Boyd Lodge
Central Minnesota’s foliage is some of Minnesota’s brightest and most colorful. Warm days and cool nights bring about a dramatic change of colors on the lakeshore and in the nearby woods. There are so many trails that wind through Boyd Lodge’s nearby forests and parks – we can practically guarantee some wildlife sightings as the animals are busy preparing for the cold weather they know is coming.
Naturally (no pun intended), the fall also delivers the final months of open water fishing. We have to ask: can you do better than having access to 14 different lakes for your fishing adventures? We suspect not. Oh, and the sunsets against the vibrant tree-lined shores? Yeah, they’ll take your breath away for real.
Winter
Activities Galore at Boyd Lodge
Boyd Lodge is the perfect place to rejuvenate your youthful spirit in the dead of a Minnesota winter. For all our outdoor enthusiasts, we have 5+ miles of our own groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, as well as access to all 14 lakes of the Whitefish Chain for great ice fishing.
Our resort is conveniently located near the Paul Bunyan Trail and its 110 miles of groomed snowmobile trails extending all the way from Brainerd to Bemidji. After a day of exhilarating cross-country skiing on our private trails or a snow-flying snowmobile excursion, you can cap your night by relaxing in our sauna and whirlpool – or just sit in front of a roaring fire in your luxurious private cabin.
Spring
in Minnesota at Boyd Lodge
For some, spring is the ideal time to visit – the ice houses are typically off the lakes but the ice’s thickness still allows plenty of on-ice folicking! In fact, it’s perfect for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and ice skating.
If you want to stay off the ice, the Crosslake area is replete with hiking trails – whether on foot, skis, snowshoes, or a snowmobile, you’ll be stunned by what you see: fresh green growth with icicles attached, animals emerging from hibernation, birds returning to their own homes at Boyd Lodge… the list goes on. Oh, and there’s a little something called the “fishing opener”?
